Removing and installing/replacing sport steering wheel (4' Series Coupe/Convertible, 4' Series Gran Coupe Sedan)

NOTE: Chassis/wheel alignment is not necessary after the steering wheel has been removed and installed or replaced.

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove AIRBAG UNIT .

CAUTION: While releasing the screw (2), counter support the steering wheel with the help of a second person in order to reduce the torque on the steering column!

Move wheels/sport steering wheel into straight-ahead position.

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Release screw (2) and remove sport steering wheel.

Installation note:

Only on vehicles with microencapsulated screw: Clean thread in the steering column and replace screw!

Tightening torque 32 33 1AZ .

Make sure connecting line(s) is/are correctly laid.

Installation note:

Align sport steering wheel by way of marking (1) to steering column marking (2) and attach.

Replacement:

If necessary, remount both SHIFT PADDLES .
Remount the DESIGN COVER .
Remount both SWITCHES ON THE SPORTS STEERING WHEEL .
If applicable, remount the STEERING WHEEL MODULE .
