Remove both wiper arms

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the wiper console .
If the wiper arm is removed without a special tool, the wiper console can break .

Only remove the wiper arm with the described special tool.
Do not lever off the wiper arm, as otherwise the wiper console can break at the predetermined breaking point for active pedestrian protection.

NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

Remove the protective cap (1).
Unscrew the nut below it.

Make sure that the wiper arm (1) is not bent during removal.
Pull off the wiper arm (1) using special tool 0 493 441 (61 6 060) .
