Removing the DME control unit
Prerequisite
- Ignition is switched off.

- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.
Preliminary work:
- Remove right luggage compartment trim panel. Refer to REMOVING RIGHT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH PANEL (4' SERIES COUPE/CONVERTIBLE) or REMOVING RIGHT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH PANEL (4' SERIES GRAN COUPE SEDAN) .
- Refer to DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY EARTH LEAD .
- Refer to UNINSTALLING THE COVER FOR THE DME CONTROL UNIT .
- Refer to DISCONNECTING THE CONNECTOR FROM THE DME CONTROL UNIT AND FROM THE POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX (PDM) .

- Unlock clamps (1) .
- Remove the DME control unit (2) towards the top.
