Removing and installing/replacing intake silencer housing (B46/B48 4-Cyl. Engine) (4' Series Coupe/Convertible, 4' Series Gran Coupe Sedan)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove DESIGN COVER .
• Remove the front strut on the right (F33 only)  .

Removal: 

Unlock and disconnect plugs (1).

Release lock (2) in direction of arrow.

Remove the clean air pipe (3) and put to one side.

Loosen and remove the intake silencer housing (4) from the rubber mounts.

Preparation for installation: 

Check the rubber mounts (1) are positioned correctly.

Check the rubber mounts (1) are positioned correctly on the intake silencer housing (2).

Installation: 

Insert and install the intake silencer housing (4) in the intake port (5).

The intake silencer housing (4) must engage audibly with the rubber mounts.

Insert and install the clean air pipe (3) in the direction of the arrow.

Lock (2) must snap audibly into place.

Attach and lock connector (1).

Connector (1) must engage audibly.

Required follow-up work: 

• Install the front strut on the right (F33 only)  .
• Install the DESIGN COVER .
