Removing and installing/replacing alternator drive belt (B46/B48 4-Cyl. Engine) (4' Series Coupe/Convertible, 4' Series Gran Coupe Sedan)
Special tools required:
- 11 0 390
CAUTION:
Check drive belt for coolant and oil residues, replace if necessary.
Mark the direction of travel of the drive belt if it is to be reused.
Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove ACOUSTIC COVER AT FRONT .
Removal:
CAUTION:
Belt tensioner (1) is preloaded!
Raise the pre-loading on the belt tensioner (1) in the direction of the arrow.
Secure belt tensioner in place with special tool 11 0 390.
Remove drive belt (1).
Installation:
Observe course of the drive belt (1).
Position drive belt (1) on ancillary components.
CAUTION:
Belt tensioner (1) is preloaded!
Raise the pre-loading on the belt tensioner (1).
Remove special tool 11 0 390 from the belt tensioner (1).
Required follow-up work:
- Install ACOUSTIC COVER AT FRONT .
- Assemble engine
