Remove and install/replace connecting branch on the engine block (B46/B48 4-Cyl. Engine) (4' Series Coupe/Convertible, 4' Series Gran Coupe Sedan)

Necessary preliminary work: 

• Remove INTAKE PLENUM .
• Drain the HIGH TEMPERATURE COOLANT .

Removal: 

Unlock the latch (1) and pull off the coolant hose.

Unclip clamp (1) from the connecting branch.

Unfasten screws (2).

Remove connecting branch.

Installation: 

Installation note: 

Sealing ring (1) is no longer available, only in conjunction with the connecting branch (2). See the appropriate BMW parts catalogue.

Parts:  Replace connecting branch (2).

Clean sealing surface (1).

Position the connecting branch.

Tighten screws (2).

Tightening torque 11 53 5AZ .

Clip in clamp (1) to the connecting branch.

Lock the latch (1) and connect to the connecting branch.

Required follow-up work: 

• Install INTAKE PLENUM .
• Fill the HIGH-TEMPERATURE COOLANT CIRCUIT .
