Removing and installing/replacing armrest on rear left or right side trim panel 51 43 060 | (4' Series Coupe/Convertible)

NOTE: Armrest is welded to door trim panel only on initial installation. The armrest is screw-connected on second installation. If necessary, release screws instead of welding spots.

Cut sound insulation (1) in marked area and remove.

Installation note:

Attach sound insulation (1) with PROFILE RUBBER ADHESIVE .

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage!

Drill only to base area of side trim panel so that contact surface is not damaged.

Drill out all marked welding spots with 8 mm dia. weld spot drill bit.

Remove welding remnants on side trim panel.

Replacement:

Similar to graphic.

Saw off all welding pins (1) along moulding (2).

Insert armrest in side trim panel.

Installation note:

Welding pins (1) are not to protrude over side trim panel (2).

Installation note:

Secure armrest with repair screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 43 5AZ .

If the screw starts to turn without resistance, fill the welding pins with adhesive and then tighten the screws using only minimal tightening torque.
