REP-TAT-P-1131-02 Installing the timing chains

• Position the bottom timing chain (1).
• Position the crankshaft using special tool 2 357 904  and secure the special tool 2 357 904  with the screw (2).
• Make sure the special tool 2 357 904  is correctly installed on the guide pin of the crankshaft and on the guide bushing of the crankcase.

• Insert the camshaft sprocket (2) into the timing chain and position it on the crankcase.
• Tighten down screw (1).

TIGHTEN TORQUES SPECIFICATIONS

Sprocket wheel at the crankcase
Clean thread.	108 Nm

• Replace the bearing journals (1) and (3).

  Parts:  Bearing journal

• Position the guide rail (4) and screw in the bearing journals (3).

TIGHTEN TORQUES SPECIFICATIONS

Bearing journal to crankcase
Replace bearing journal. Clean thread.	20 Nm

• Position the tensioning rail (2) and screw in the bearing journal (1).

Replace bearing journal. Clean thread.	20 Nm

• Remove oil and contamination from the sealing surfaces of the chain tensioner (2).
• Position the chain tensioner (2) and secure with the screws (1).

TIGHTEN TORQUES SPECIFICATIONS

Bottom chain tensioner to crankcase
M6 x 22 Clean thread.	9 Nm

• Secure the chain tensioner piston (1) with a screwdriver (2).
• Remove special tool 0 491 012 (11 4 120)  and slowly remove the screwdriver (2).
• Remove special tool 2 357 904  .

• Install the tensioning rail (2).
• Install the top timing chain (1).

• Install the chain (1) for the oil pump.
