65 77 016 Removing and installing/replacing airbag control unit
WARNING:
Refer to: AIRBAG SAFETY REGULATIONS!
Incorrect handling can activate airbag and cause injury.
IMPORTANT:
Read and comply with NOTES
on protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD protection).
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Disconnect the BATTERY EARTH LEAD
- Remove the TRIM PANEL FOR PEDAL MECHANISM
Release screw (1).
Tightening torque, refer to: 65 77 1AZ.
Unlock plug connections (2) and disconnect.
Pull airbag control unit (3) out of holder in direction of arrow.
Replacement:
Carry out the VEHICLE PROGRAMMING/ENCODING.
