Stripping Operations - Replacing Rear Side Panel, Right

- Remove battery (FR number: 61 21 010)
- Remove bumper trim panel (job number: 51 12 156)
- Remove center bumper guide (job number: 51 12 825)
- Remove right bumper guide (job number: 51 12 828)
- Remove luggage compartment floor trim panel (FR number: 51 47 101)
- Remove tail panel trim at top (FR number: 51 46 050)
- Remove backrest (job number: 52 24 010)
- Remove rear seat (FR number: 52 24 005)
- Remove right rear light (job number: 63 21 260)
- Remove right luggage compartment wheel arch panel (FR number: 51 47 162)
- Remove rear right wheel (FRU number: 36 10 300)
- Remove right rear wheel arch cover (job number: 51 71 041)
- Remove cover housing (job number: 41 63 003)
- Remove trim panel for roof pillar (job number: 51 43 251)
- Remove trim panel for storage shelf (parcel shelf) (job number: 51 46 001)
- Remove rear window (FR number: 51 31 200)
- Remove rear right lock striker (FRU number: 51 21 003)
- Remove right rear left door sill cover strip (job number: 51 47 030)
- Remove the rear right rocker panel trim (outer) (job number: 51 47 072)
- Remove rear right door edge protection (job number: 51 72 000)
- Remove trim panel for cover on right side member (job number: 51 71 447)
- Remove trim strip on right roof frame (FR number: 51 13 280)
- Remove trim strip on drip molding (job number: 51 13 316)
- Remove tailgate (FR number: 41 62 000)
- Remove right tension spring for tailgate (FRU number: 51 24 325)
- Remove right rear door
- Partially detach tailgate seal
Press wiring harness (1) through to the inside with the grommet.
Unlock plug connections (2) and disconnect.
Release screw (3) and remove MODULE (4).
Release latch mechanisms and remove rear ventilation (5).
Loosen insulating mat and place to the front.
Installation note:
The rear ventilation must not be damaged! (watertightness).
All latch mechanisms must engage audibly.
Pull out wiring harness (1) and cable (2) for emergency release of the fuel filler flap.
Release grommet (3) for water drain hose of the slide/tilt sunroof and lay to one side.
Remove foam insert (4).
Installation note:
Make sure water drain hose is installed correctly! (watertightness).
