51 47 161 Removing and installing/replacing right luggage compartment wheel arch panel

Necessary preliminary work: 

• Remove the COVER FROM TAIL PANEL 
• Remove the TRIM FOR TAILGATE HINGE  on right

Version without through-loading system: 

Remove the BACKREST FOR REAR SEAT

Version with through-loading system: 

• Reposition right rear seat backrest

Lever out cover (1) and release screw underneath.

Tightening torque, refer to: 51 47 1AZ .

Remove lashing eye (2).

Remove flap (1).

Pull out and detach fuel tank release (1).

Release clamps (2).

Feed out wheel arch panel (3) in direction of arrow.

Installation note: 

Wheel arch panel must be seated correctly under tailgate rubber seal (4).

Replacement (depending on version): 

Unclip tensioning strap (1).

Detach luggage compartment net (2) at holder (3).

Release lock washer (4) and feed out luggage compartment net (2).

Unscrew holder (3).

If necessary, apertures for tensioning strap (1) and luggage compartment net (2) must be cut out at mark on rear side.
