17 11 000 Removing and installing the radiator for the high-temperature cooling system (B48)
Only carry out repair work on the cooling system when the engine has cooled down.
Recycling
Catch and dispose of escaping coolant in a suitable collecting vessel.
Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.
Follow the instructions:
Observe the NOTES on repair work on the cooling system.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Drain the HIGH-TEMPERATURE COOLANT .
- Drain the LOW-TEMPERATURE COOLANT .
- Remove the FAN COWL .
- Remove the FRONT PANEL IN THE CENTER .
Removal:
Loosen the cable (1) along the arrows.
Unfasten screws (2).
Feed out cover (3) and remove.
Unlock coolant line (1) and release.
Unlock coolant line (2) and release.
Unlock coolant line (1) and release.
Feed out radiator (1) and remove.
Installation:
Feed in radiator (1) and install.
Connect coolant line (1) and lock.
Coolant line (1) must audibly engage.
Connect coolant line (2) and lock.
Connect coolant line (1) and lock.
All coolant lines must audibly engage.
Feed in and install the cover (3).
Tighten down screws (2).
Tightening torque, refer to: 17 10 2AZ .
Secure the cable (1) along the arrows.
Required follow-up work:
- Install the FRONT PANEL IN THE CENTER .
- Install the FAN COWL .
- Top up LOW-TEMPERATURE COOLANT.
- Top up HIGH-TEMPERATURE COOLANT.
