11 41 000 Removing and installing/replacing oil/vacuum pump (B48B)

Attention!

It is possible to remove and install the oil/vacuum pump without removing the transmission.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

REMOVAL:

Release screws (1) of oil/vacuum pump (2).

Remove oil/vacuum pump (1) and thread out of drive chain (2).

Replacement:

Release screws (1). Remount intake pipe (2).

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque: 11 41 1AZ .

Replacement:

Attention!

Pay attention to mounting flats on oil pump (see arrow).

Labelling "Front" on the camshaft sprocket (1) needs to be visible.

Replacement:

Attention!

Screw (1) has left-hand thread.

"Front" needs to be legible on the camshaft sprocket.

Hold down camshaft sprocket (2) with a suitable tool. Release screw (1). Remount camshaft sprocket.

Parts: Replace screw (1).

Mount camshaft sprocket (2) and hold down with a suitable tool. Tighten screw (1).

Tightening torque: 11 41 5AZ .

INSTALLATION:

Check centering bushes (1) for damage, replace if necessary.

NOTE: Sealing ring (1) must not be damaged or missing.

Thread oil/vacuum pump (1) into drive chain (2).
