6312... US version: Check/replace the horizontal blocking sets for the headlights

NOTE: Before installing the new headlight, make sure that the adjustment screw for adjusting the headlight horizontally is secured with a plug to prevent it from being manipulated.

Check:

Check the adjustment screw for horizontal adjustment for blockage (schematic illustration. If necessary, consult the vehicle specific service information on headlight adjustment for the exact positioning of the adjustment screws.)

Desired state:

The adjustment screw for horizontal adjustment must be blocked with a plug (1) (schematic illustration)

The plug (1) is installed in the adjustment screw for horizontal adjustment (schematic illustration)

Measure:

Install headlight

After installation, check the vertical headlight adjustment and correct if necessary.

No plug is installed in the adjustment screw (1) for horizontal adjustment (schematic illustration)

Measure:

Mark the position the adjustment screw for horizontal adjustment to identify possible shifting of the adjustment screw after installation of the horizontal blocking (schematic illustration).

Push the headlight-specific plug (1) without damaging it into the adjustment screw (2) (schematic illustration).

NOTE: After installing the plug (1), check the correct position of the adjusting screw (2) based on the marks made previously and correct if necessary.

Install headlight

After installation, check the vertical headlight adjustment and correct if necessary.
