33 32 131 Replacing a wheel carrier

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove the REAR WHEEL .
• Remove the CAMBER ARM COVER .
• Remove the COIL SPRING .
• Remove the BRAKE DISC .
• Remove the PARKING BRAKE SHOES .
• Remove the PULSE SENSOR ON WHEEL CARRIER .
• Remove the DRIVE FLANGE FOR REAR AXLE SHAFT .

Secure wheel carrier against falling out.

• Slacken the ANTI-ROLL BAR LINK ON WHEEL CARRIER .
• Slacken the TRAILING ARM ON WHEEL CARRIER .
• Slacken the CONTROL ARM ON WHEEL CARRIER .
• Slacken the TOE ARM ON WHEEL CARRIER .
• Undo the WISHBONE AT THE WHEEL CARRIER .
• Slacken the CAMBER ARM ON WHEEL CARRIER .

Remove wheel carrier including brake guard plate.

• Replace the WHEEL BEARING .
• Modify or replace the BRAKE GUARD PLATE .

After installation: 

• Adjust the PARKING BRAKE
• Carry out WHEEL ALIGNMENT CHECK .
