13 71 165 Removing and installing the clean air pipe (B48)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove the INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING .

Removal: 

Unlock and open engine vent pipe (1).

Unlock and loosen tank ventilation line (2).

Unlock clamp (3) on exhaust turbocharger and release.

Feed out clean air pipe (4) and remove.

Preparation for installation: 

Replace the sealing ring (1) on the top clean air pipe if it is damaged.

Part:  Sealing ring

Replace the sealing ring (1) on the bottom clean air pipe if it is damaged.

Part:  Sealing ring

Installation: 

Thread in clean air pipe (4) and install.

The clamp (3) must engage audibly on the exhaust turbocharger.

Connect and lock tank ventilation line (2).

Tank ventilation line (2) must snap audibly into place.

Connect and lock engine vent pipe (1).

Engine vent pipe (1) should be engaged audibly.

• Install the INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING .
