11 66 000 Removing and installing/replacing vacuum pump (N20)

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Press brake pedal several times to reduce vacuum in brake servo.
NOTE:
For purposes of clarity, this work step is shown on the engine after it has been removed.
Undo vacuum line (1) of brake servo.
Undo vacuum line (2) of turbocharger controls.
Release screws (3).
Remove vacuum pump (4) to the rear.
Align vacuum pump electric motor (3) to groove (2) on exhaust camshaft.
Check sealing ring (1) for damage and replace if necessary.
Installation note:
Lightly oil sealing ring (1)
The vacuum pump can be installed more easily by simultaneously rotating and pressing.
Assemble engine.
Check function of DME.
