51 21 125 Removing and installing/replacing support for left or right outer door handle with lock barrel

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove OUTER DOOR HANDLE .
Remove DOOR LOCK .
Remove TRIM ON WINDOW FRAME OF FRONT DOOR .

Close side window (1); in so doing, do not crush or pinch rubber guides (2).

Release screw (1) on cap (2).

Remove cap (2).

Installation note:

Rubber seal (3) must sit correctly in guides on door outer skin.

Release retaining screw (1).

Remove plastic guide underneath.

Installation note:

Correctly insert retaining lug (2) and move to stop.

Turn carrier for door outside handle (1) approx. 90° and feed out below.

Installation note:

Ensure correct Bowden cable installation position.

Replacement:

Feed Bowden cable (1) out of carrier (2).

If required, modify LOCK BARREL .
