31 51 015 Replacing shaft seal for left output shaft

Special tools required:

31 5 130

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove LEFT OUTPUT SHAFT .

Lever shaft seal (1) out of front axle differential (3) with a fork wrench (2).

Installing radial shaft seal:

NOTE: The installation protective ring (1) serves to protect the sealing lips of the radial shaft seal (2) when the output shaft is being installed.

Installation note:

Drive in shaft seal with special tool 31 5 130 up to limit position.

After installation:

Check FRONT AXLE GEARBOX OIL LEVEL , correct if necessary.
