51 23... Checking engine compartment lid locks (for vehicles with active pedestrian protection system)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove hood/bonnet locks. See REPLACING LEFT LOCK  and REPLACING RIGHT LOCK .

Check hood/bonnet locks for damage; replace if necessary.
