51 45... Replacing defroster covers

Special tools required: 

When working on trim panel components, make sure that the sensitive surfaces are not scratched or damaged.

Carefully lever out and remove speaker cover (1) using special tool 00 9 325 .

Installation: 

Retaining clips (1) on speaker cover (2) must be correctly seated on associated lugs and must not be damaged.

IMPORTANT: Make sure that no parts fall into the air duct (risk of noise).

Using special tool 00 9 327 , first lever out right defroster cover (1) in the center and release inner catch.

If necessary, twist special tool 00 9 327 as shown in order to do so.

NOTE: The catch positions (arrow) can be determined by counting off the ribs (2) on the defroster cover (1) in each case.

Lever out all other catches from the inside outwards using special tool 00 9 327 .

To do so, carefully lever up defroster cover (1) in the center using special tool 00 9 325 (see illustration).

Remove defroster cover.

Repeat operation on left defroster cover.

Installation: 

Fit left defroster cover first.
