63 21 240 Remove and install (replace) rear light from tailgate at left (X6 2015-2019)

IMPORTANT: Read and comply with notes on protection against electrostatic damage (ESD PROTECTION ).

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove TRIM FOR REAR LID .

Removal:

Unlock and disconnect the connector (1).

Unscrew nuts (2) from rear light (3).

Release latch mechanism.

Detach rear light (1) and feed out in direction of arrow.

Installation:

Installation note:

Check rear light (1).

Studs (2) must not be damaged or missing.

Latch mechanisms (3) must not be damaged or missing.

The seal (4) must not be damaged or missing.

Connect rear light (1) in direction of arrow.

Installation note:

Make sure rear light unit (1) is correctly seated on tailgate.

Tighten nuts (2) on rear light (3).

Tightening torque 63 21 2AZ .

Connect the connector (1).

Installation note:

Check rear light (3) is correctly seated and latched into place on tailgate.

Replacement:

On vehicles with production date up to 07/15 the integration level on the Body Domain Controller must be updated (integration level 15-03-501 or higher)!
