51 46 050 Removing and installing/replacing top cover on tail panels (X6 2015-2019)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove STORAGE COMPARTMENT IN LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT AT RIGHT .
- Remove TRIM FROM D-PILLAR AT BOTTOM at left and right
- Remove BATTERY COVER .
Removal:
Release screws (1).
Remove trim panel (2) upwards out of clamps (3).
Installation:
Latch trim panel (2) downwards into clamps (3).
Tighten down screws (1).
NOTE:
Feed in edge protection (1).
To avoid damaging the tailgate and cover, carefully close the tailgate and check correct seating.

Required follow-up work:
- Install STORAGE COMPARTMENT IN LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT at right
- Install TRIM ONTO D-PILLAR AT BOTTOM at left and right
- Install the BATTERY COVER .
