Removing and installing/replacing airbag module for driver's knee protection (X6 M)

Operations on pyrotechnical devices may only be carried out by authorized experts.

Improper, unauthorized operations may result in serious dangers.

Unauthorized persons are strictly prohibited from performing any operations on this system .

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Disconnect NEGATIVE BATTERY LEAD .
Remove TRIM PANEL FOR PEDAL MECHANISM

Removal:

Release screws (1).

Remove airbag module (2) and unlock the PLUG CONNECTION BEHIND IT AND DISCONNECT .

Installation:

Connect the connector to the airbag module (2).

Replace screws (1).

Parts: Bolts

Position the airbag module (2) and tighten screws (1).

Tightening torque 72 12 03 AZ .

Required reworking:

Install TRIM PANEL FOR PEDAL MECHANISM
Connect BATTERY EARTH LEAD .
