Removing and installing/replacing expansion tank for charge air cooler (S63 B44 T 2) (X6 M)
Attention!
Risk of scalding!
Only perform this repair work after engine has cooled down.
Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove ACOUSTIC COVER .
- Follow INSTRUCTIONS for repair work on the cooling system.
Removal:
Draw off coolant from the expansion tank for the charge air cooler with a conventional pump.
Pinch off coolant hoses at the expansion tank using disconnection tool (to prevent coolant from escaping).
Release screw (1).
Slightly raise expansion tank (3).
Unlock and detach coolant hose (2).
Press in the locks (1) and pull off the coolant line (2).
Do not use disconnection pliers to disconnect plastic tubes!
Catch and dispose of escaping coolant.
Remove charge air cooler expansion tank.
Installation:
Connect coolant line (2) to the expansion tank for the charge air cooler and audibly lock the lock (1).
Connect coolant hose (2) to the expansion tank for the charge air cooler and audibly lock.
Mount expansion tank (2) on the holder.
Tighten screw (1).
Tightening torque 17 10 2AZ .
Required follow-up work:
- Fill and bleed COOLING SYSTEM for charge air cooler.
- Check CHARGE-AIR COOLER COOLING SYSTEM FOR LEAKS. .
- Install the ACOUSTIC COVER .
