51 43 201 Removing and installing or replacing trim for roof pillar at front (A-pillar), left or right

Special tools required:

WARNING: Follow SAFETY INFORMATION for working on vehicles with airbag systems.

IMPORTANT: Do not use any sharp-edged removal tools (risk of damage to head airbag).

Unclip and remove protective cap (1) using special tool 00 9 340 .

Detach edge protection (1) in area of trim panel (2).

Release screw (3).

Tightening torque 51 43 1AZ .

Detach trim panel (2) at clips (4).

Feed out trim panel (2) from dashboard and remove.

Installation note:

Make sure trim panel (2) and edge protection (1) are correctly seated.

Installation note:

Replace faulty clips (1).

If necessary, lever out clips (1) remaining in bore hole and attach to trim panel (2).

Clip trim panel (2) with latch mechanism (3) into dashboard.

Position trim panel (2) on associated bore holes of clips (1) and clip into place.
