51 24 133 Removing and installing/replacing Automatic Soft Close drive on tailgate (Automatic Soft Closing)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove BATTERY
Remove TRIM FOR TAIL PANEL AT TOP

Unclip the Bowden cable cover (1) from the tailgate lock counter support. Then feed out the Bowden cable nipple (1) from the tailgate lock inlet.

Release and disconnect plug connection (2) from wiring harness.

Carefully feed out the Automatic Soft Close system drive bracket (2) toward the front from the bore hole on the tail panel (3) and do not damage the fastening nipple (1) in the process.

Installation note:

The fastening nipple (1) of the Automatic Soft Close system drive holder (2) may not be damaged or missing.

Replacement

Remove the bracket of the upper section (1) from the bracket of the lower section (2) and feed out the Automatic Soft Close system drive (4).

Installation note:

Fastening nipples (3) and (5) must not be damaged or missing.
