12 42 600 Replacing positive battery cable between alternator and positive battery connection point (N55 Hybrid)
WARNING:
High-voltage system - danger to life!
The following points must be strictly observed prior to starting work:
- Observe SAFETY INFORMATION for handling hybrid cars.
Necessary preliminary work:
- Read out the fault memory of the DME control unit.
- Switch off ignition.
- Disconnect BATTERY EARTH LEAD .
- Disconnect BATTERY EARTH LEAD of auxiliary battery and cover.
- Remove INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING .
Fold back cover (1).
Release nut underneath. Remove positive battery cable from battery positive terminal.
Tightening torque: 12 42 3AZ
Release positive battery cable from clamps (2) and (3).
Release positive battery cable from line clip (1).
Remove protective cap (2) and release nut underneath.
Tightening torque: 12 42 1AZ .
Remove positive battery cable from alternator and feed out.
NOTE:
Reassemble the vehicle.
Check stored fault messages.
Clear diagnostic fault entries from fault memory.
Check stored fault messages.
Clear diagnostic fault entries from fault memory.
