12 51 215 Replacing wiring harness section for Valvetronic servomotor (S55)
Necessary preliminary work:
- Read out the fault memory of the DME control unit.
- Switch off ignition.
- Remove CORROSION PROTECTION COVER .
Removal:
Unfasten hose clamp (2).
Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (1).
Do not detach coolant hoses (2) from charge air cooler (1).
Detach the coolant hose from the clamp (3).
Do not detach coolant hose (4) from charge air cooler (1).
Do not drain coolant!
Release charge air cooler (1) upwards from the rubber mounts and place to one side, do not remove.
Disconnect all plug connections (1) on engine control unit.
Release screws (1).
Release holder (2) and lay to one side.
Remove connector (1) from DME control unit and place to one side.
Unlock and pull off connector (1) from Valvetronic servomotor.
Remove connector (2) from DME control unit and feed out.
Undo, feed out and remove wiring harness section from clamps.
Installation:
Route the wiring harness section and fasten it with the clamps.
Attach and audibly lock connector (1) on the Valvetronic servomotor.
Route the connector (2) to the DME control unit.
Mount holder (2).
Tighten screws (1).
Tightening torque: 12 90 6AZ .
Attach and audibly lock all plug connections (1) on the engine control unit.
Feed the charge air cooler (1) into the rubber mounts and latch.
Check coolant hoses (2) for a correct fit on the charge air cooler.
Secure coolant hoses (3) with clamp (3).
Check coolant hose (4) for a correct fit on the charge air cooler.
Tighten hose clamp (2).
Tightening torque: 17 10 9AZ .
Connect and lock the connector (1).
Connector (1) must snap audibly into place.
Installation note:
Check wiring harness installation arrangement.
Check plug connections for correct fit.
Check stored fault messages.
Delete the fault memory.
Required follow-up work:
- Install the CORROSION PROTECTION COVER .
