Replacing drive belt for alternator (S55 Engine) (2019-2022)

Special tools required: 

• 11 0 390

Necessary preliminary work: 

• Remove the DRIVE BELT  for the coolant pump.

Removal: 

Release screw (1).

Feed out both engine oil pipes (2) and place to one side.

Installation note: 

Mark the direction of rotation  of the drive belt if it is to be reused.

Turn belt tensioner (1) in direction of arrow until belt tensioner bore hole is flush on crankcase.

Hold the belt tensioner (1) at tension and secure with special tool 11 0 390.

Guide out and remove drive belt.

Installation: 

Installation note: 

Insert and install drive belt.

Turn belt tensioner (1) in direction of arrow until belt tensioner bore hole is flush on crankcase.

Hold the belt tensioner (1) at tension and pull out and remove with special tool 11 0 390.

Insert and position both engine oil pipes (2).

Tighten screw (1).

Tightening torque 11 42 9AZ .

Required reworking: 

• Install DRIVE BELT  for coolant pump.
