Mounting the chrome strip on the external door handle
Separate components of outside door handle
NOTE:
A soldering iron with an output of 30-60 W with a 4 mm wide tip is needed for the repair.
- Thread the electronics (1) in on the door handle (2) as shown.
- Position the connector (1) on the door handle (2) and thread it in.
- Make sure that the snap-in-lug (3) is directed to the outside.
- Position the LED module (1) onto the door handle (2).
- Ensure that the cables (3) are placed as shown between the LED module (1) and the door handle (2).
- Tighten down screw (4).TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Cleaning agent R1 100 ml, Bottle 83192211217 - Detach the liner (2).
- Position the electronics (1) in the door handle (2) and press lightly.
- Hook the cable (3) on the provided lug (4).
- If necessary, remove the existing chrome coating with a suitable tool from the welding pins (1).
- Position the chrome wedge trim (1) on the outer panel (2) and fix it with yellow plastic adhesive tape (3).CONSUMABLE SPECIFICATION
Yellow plastic adhesive tape 83199410979 - Carry out work on a clean underlay (to prevent scratches and pressure marks).
- Preheat soldering iron with the soldering tip shown (2) for approx. 10 minutes.
- Weld the welding pins (1) by light pressure with the soldering tip (2) (Width = 4 mm) from the inside to the outside.
After welding each welding pin, maintain pressure on the cover of the outside door handle for approx. 5 seconds (welding pin cooling phase)
- Perform work on all 3 welding pins (1) and weld as shown.
- Weld the retaining tab of the connector (1) with the soldering iron and the illustrated soldering tip (2).
- Position the outer panel (1) as shown in the area (2) and clip in to the external door handle (3).
- Tighten down screw (1).TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Outer panel on external door handle Screw tightening torque 0.45 Nm - Mount the seal (1) on the external door handle (2) correctly.
- Make sure the retaining tab (3) engages completely.
- Only for door handles with lock cylinder:
Clip the retaining clip (1) in the cover for the lock cylinder (2).
- Position the cover for the lock cylinder (1) on the external door handle (2) and clip it in.
- Make sure the retaining tabs (3) have been threaded correctly.
