Remove the window channel strip on the front door

NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

Precondition

The side window glass must be completely open.

Insert the special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324) at the front (on A-pillar) into the window cavity and slide it toward the back.
The labeling TOPPING must point up.
Position the special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324) on the lower edge of the window channel strip (1) as shown:
(2) Short shank, bottom

(3) Long shank, top (TOP)

Position the special tool 0 490 535 (00 9 318) on the door trim panel (1).
Use a suitable tool (2) through the opening of the special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324) to lever out the window channel strip (3) toward the top no more than 5 mm.
Gradually shift the special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324) and 0 490 535 (00 9 318) forwards until the window channel strip (3) has been completely disassembled.
