Remove the center tailgate trim strip

Remove the center tailgate trim strip 

• Unclip the trim (1) with the special tool 0 496 569 (00 9 325) .

  NOTE: Perform the steps on the right and left side.
• Push detent (1) on trim strip (2) through from the inside to outside.

• Starting from the outside, pry out the trim strip (1) at the center of the tailgate with the special tool 0 496 569 (00 9 325) and remove to the rear from the detents and from the adhesive strips.

  The trim strip at the center of the tailgate (1) is additionally secured to the tail lights with adhesive strips at the points (2).

Remove the center tailgate trim strip 

• Loosen the trim strip (1) on the center of the tailgate to the rear from the detents (2) left and right using the special tool 0 496 569 (00 9 325) .
• Loosen the trim strip (1) over its entire length from the adhesive strips and remove.
• Remove adhesive residue from the tail light at the tailgate center.
