64 52 530 Removing and installing/replacing electric A/C compressor
The following points must be strictly observed prior to starting work :
- DE-ENERGIZE THE HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM
- Observe SAFETY INFORMATION for working with hybrid cars.
Refrigerant circuit is under high pressure!
Avoid contact with refrigerant and refrigerant oil.
- Observe SAFETY INFORMATION for handling refrigerant and refrigerant oil.
Read and comply with NOTES ON REPLACING COMPRESSOR .
Follow notes for OPENING AND REPLACING PARTS in refrigerant circuit.
If air conditioning system is opened for more than 24 hours: REPLACE DESICCANT INSERT FOR AIR CONDITIONING .
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- DRAW OFF HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM (drawing off, evacuating and filling the heating and air conditioning system are not included in the time value given for this job item)
- REMOVE FRONT LEFT CHARGE-AIR DUCT
- REMOVE REAR LEFT CHARGE AIR DUCT
Release screws (1) from air conditioning lines (2).
Installation note:
Replace sealing rings.
Tightening torque 64 52 1AZ .
Release screw (1). Remove holder (2) with air conditioning lines (3) and spacer sleeve (4).
Tightening torque 64 52 6AZ .
Do not fit holder (2) without spacer sleeve (4).
Remove air conditioning lines (3) from electric A/C compressor (5) upwards and place to one side.
Installation note:
Air conditioning lines (3) must not be set against belt (6)!
Check distance between air conditioning lines (3) and belt (6) in area (7)!
If necessary, adjust holder (2) so that distance is at least 2 cm.
Unlock and disconnect high-voltage plug connection (3). Detach high-voltage cable (4) at position marked with arrow and place to one side.
Unlock plug connection (5) and disconnect.
Unfasten plug connection (2) and disconnect.
Detach line (1) at position marked with arrows and place to one side.
Release screws (1) from electric A/C compressor (2). Remove electric A/C compressor (2).
Tightening torque: 64 52 3AZ .
Release screws (3) and remove both holders (4, 5).
Tightening torque: 12 31 2AZ
Position electric A/C compressor (1) as shown in graphic and feed out upwards.
After installation:
