51 41... Punching in the contour for the seat memory switch in the front door trim panel (door trim panel removed)
Special tools required:
When working on trim panel components, make sure that the sensitive surfaces are not scratched or damaged.
NOTE:
The required special tools are contained in the special tool set 51 4 100
.
Punch out the perforated notches marked in the door trim panel (1) using bore hole punch 51 4 109 .
Attention!
For punching work, equip cutting device with cutting punch 51 4 114 and cutting die 51 4 115 .
IMPORTANT:
To prevent damage to the cutting punch and cutting die (2), only fix with special tool 51 4 112
with the cutting device (1) pushed together.
Slide lower section 51 4 101 of cutting device through punched holes in door trim panel (1) from outside.
NOTE:
Guide pins of cutting device are coded. Distortion is thus not possible.
On the inside of door trim panel (1), attach upper part 51 4 102 of cutting device to lower section.
Punch out the contour using pressure disc 51 4 105 and union nut 51 4 113 .
Press punching remnants out of the cutting device from the rear with pressing-off tool 51 4 111 .
NOTE:
This operation is necessary to prevent the cutting surfaces from being damaged during a renewed punching operation.
