REP-TAT-P-1165-14 Adjusting the electric wastegate valve actuator
- Perform the following work steps only when the setting for the electric wastegate valve adjuster is specified by the vehicle diagnosis.
- Connect diagnostic system:
- Service functions
- Drive
- Engine electrical system
- Adjustment programs
- Adjusting wastegate linkage
- Connect connector (1).
- Mount the special tool 2 448 366 on the wastegate linkage (1) and over the shaft (2).
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The adjustment nuts must be locked using 2 open-end wrenches. If only one open-end wrench is used, there is a risk of the electrical controller drive being damaged.
The adjustment nuts must be locked using 2 open-end wrenches. If only one open-end wrench is used, there is a risk of the electrical controller drive being damaged.
- Mark the lock nut (1) and the adjustment nut (2) with a colored mark.
- Loosen lock nut (1).
- According to the diagnostic function: Shorten the adjustment travel (-) or lengthen the adjustment travel (+).
One rotation of the adjustment nut = 0.75 mm of the adjustment travel
- Example 1:
- Measured actual value (via diagnostic function) = 0.75 mm
- Required correction: +0.75 mm divided by 0.75 mm = +1.0 revolutions
For the correction of the setting of the control rod: Adjust the lock nut (1) in direction (+) by 1.0 revolutions and then readjust the adjustment nut (2).
TIGHTEN TORQUES SPECIFICATIONS

7.5 ± 1.2 Nm |
- Example 2:
- Measured actual value (via diagnostic function) = -1.5 mm
- Required correction: -1.5 mm divided by 0.75 mm = 2.0 revolutions
For the correction of the setting of the control rod: Adjust the adjustment nut (2) in direction (-) by 2.0 turns and then readjust the lock nut (1).

- Disassemble the special tool 2 448 366 from the wastegate linkage (1) and over the shaft (2).
- After setting: Recheck the basic setting with the diagnostic function.
