Preliminary work

Refer to REMOVING THE ACOUSTIC COVER
Refer to UNINSTALLING COVER FOR THE DME CONTROL UNIT
Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION

Remove the support for the underbody protection

Remove screws (arrows).

Remove the support (1).

Drain the engine oil (remove the full-flow oil filter). Refer to ENGINE OIL SERVICE .

Refer to DISCONNECTING THE CONNECTOR FROM THE DME CONTROL UNIT AND FROM THE POWER DISTRIBUTION MODULE (PDM)

Remove the sound insulation on the bulkhead upper part at the center
Refer to REMOVING ACOUSTIC COVER AT REAR
Refer to REMOVING TANK VENT VALVE
Unlock and disconnect connector (1). Loosen screws (2). Remove charge air line from throttle body and place to one side.

Release the coolant feeder hose from the connecting bracket. Refer to first illustration under procedure REMOVING CONNECTING BRACKET ON ENGINE BLOCK .

Follow-up work

Refer to INSTALLING FULL-FLOW OIL FILTER
Tighten the oil drain plug to 25 Nm.
NOTE: Replace the sealing ring.
Tighten the oil filter cover as needed
Top up the engine oil
Connect the coolant feeder hose to the connecting bracket
Refer to INSTALLING THE AUXILIARY COOLANT PUMP
Refer to INSTALLING THE INTAKE PLENUM
Fasten charge air line to the throttle body
Refer to INSTALLING THE TANK VENT VALVE
Refer to INSTALLING ACOUSTIC COVER AT REAR
Install the sound insulation on the bulkhead upper part at the center
Install tension strut on spring strut dome. Jointing torque: 56 Nm, angle of rotation: 90°
NOTE: Replace screws.

Install cover for the DME control unit
Refer to CONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS

Check engine oil level
Install the support for the underbody protection. Tightening torque: 3Nm.
