TECHNICAL INFORMATION
With the ignition off and the high-voltage safety plug disconnected, the Check Control message "High voltage system faulty" is displayed by default.
The message "High-voltage system switched off" (absence of voltage) is only displayed when the ignition is switched on.

Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING THE FLAP IN THE RIGHT-HAND LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM PANEL .
- Refer to DE-ENERGIZE THE HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM .
- Refer to CHECK THAT NO VOLTAGE IS APPLIED .
- Refer to DISCONNECTING THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE .
- Refer to DISCONNECTING THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE OF THE VEHICLE BATTERY .

- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.
- Loosen nut on auxiliary cable (1).
- Remove auxiliary cable (1).
- Slacken the nut (2) on the positive battery terminal.
- Carefully pull off the positive battery terminal from the positive battery terminal.WARNING: Unprotected battery terminals.
Risk of short circuits! Risk of fire!- Cover the vehicle battery.
- Pull off the vent hose (3).
- Loosen the expanding rivet (1).
- Remove power connector (2).
- Secure power connector (2) and positive battery cable on side.
- Unlock connector (3)
and pull off.
- Loosen screw (1).
- Remove battery holder.
- Loosen screw (1).
- Push the battery holder (2) using a screwdriver back toward the engine.
- Remove auxiliary battery.
