Removing and installing/replacing airbag control unit

Incorrect handling can activate airbag and cause injury.
IMPORTANT:
Read and comply with NOTES ON PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTRO STATIC DISCHARGE (ESD PROTECTION)
.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Disconnect the BATTERY EARTH LEAD .
- Remove TRIM PANEL FOR PEDAL MECHANISM .
Release screw (1).
Tightening torque 65 77 1AZ .
Unlock plug connections (2) and disconnect.
Pull airbag control unit (3) out of holder in direction of arrow.
Replacement:
Carry out VEHICLE PROGRAMMING/ENCODING .
