11 00 670 Securing engine in installation position (N20)
Special tools required:
Observe following instructions relating to special tool:
- Prior to each use, check the special tools for defects, modifications and operational reliability.
- Damaged/modified special tools must not be used!
- No changes or modifications may be made to the special tools!
- Keep special tools dry, clean and free of grease.
Attention!
Before lifting the engine, check the lifting lugs for damage (cracks) and to ensure they are seated securely.
- NUMBERING SYSTEM FOR SPECIAL TOOLS has been re-encoded.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Secure the engine compartment lid in the service position .
Completion of transverse member 00 6 100 with supports 00 6 050 in conjunction with adapters 00 6 130
Supplement cross-member with feet 2 293 876 at front and 2 293 877 at rear.
Remove rubber plugs (1) on left and right sides.
When fitting the cross-member, make sure the bolt of foot 2 293 876 is secured in opening (1).
Attention!
Risk of damage!
Position cross-member 00 6 100 with a 2nd person help on designated areas (1,2) of side wall.
The contact points (1, 2) on the right side are shown.
Make sure the bolt is secured at contact point (1).
Screw in towing hook (1).
Tighten down all the cross-member connections.
Suspend chain (1) from towing hook (2) and light pre-tension with spindle (3).
Attention!
Avoid a change of engine position in the transverse or longitudinal direction.
Always make sure there is sufficient clearance between the engine (or its add-on parts) and the body.
Unscrew nuts (1).
Raise engine approx. 10 mm with cross member.
Installation note:
Replace self-locking nuts.
Tightening torque 22 11 2AZ .
