67 31 X01 Removing and refitting/replacing backrest width adjustment motor (from production date 07/2012 through model year 2015)

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove front seat. See REMOVING DRIVER'S SEAT or REMOVING FRONT PASSENGER SEAT .
Remove rear panel. See:
- REMOVING REAR PANEL (NORMAL/ELECTRIC SEAT)
- REMOVING REAR PANEL (COMFORT SEAT)
Remove SIDE AIRBAG if necessary

Detach seat fabric (1) in marked area.

Fold seat fabric (1) slightly forwards as shown.

Drill out expanding rivet (2).

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Remove backrest width adjustment motor (2).

NOTE:

Carry out FUNCTION CHECK WITH ADAPTER CABLE

Replacement:

INITIALIZE seat height adjustment drive unit.
