51 24 326 Removing and installing/replacing right tension spring with damper for tailgate

Necessary preliminary work: 

WARNING: Support tailgate in fully opened position with suitable apparatus.
Danger of injury!

Press retainer (1) together.

Ball socket (2) jumps out of ball stud.

WARNING: The tailgate will drop down if it is not supported.

Unhook tension spring with damper (1) from tailgate hinge (2).

Installation note: 

On refitting the tension springs (1), these have to be bent to the original condition by hand.
