51 32 170 Remove and install/replace side window, front left or right

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 18 other vehicles, including the 2015 BMW Alpina B7L xDrive, 2015 BMW Alpina B7 xDrive, 2015 BMW 750i xDrive, 2015 BMW 750Li xDrive, and 2015 BMW 740Li xDrive. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Necessary preliminary work:

Open side window to 145 mm.
Remove SOUND INSULATION FROM FRONT DOOR .
Remove OUTER WINDOW CAVITY COVER STRIP .

Side window glass must be opened to dimension (A).

A = 145 mm

Carefully unlock window glass locating clips (1) in direction of arrow.

Gently press side window glass upwards to snap retaining lug (2) completely out of side window glass bore hole (3).

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage!
Do not bend locating clips (1) too far.

Installation note:

Make sure retaining lug (2) is correctly engaged in side window glass bore hole (3).

Turn side window and lift out towards rear/top.

Installation note:

Bore holes (1) of side window glass (2) must not be damaged.

Side window glass does not need to be adjusted.
