33 32 077 Removing and installing/replacing top right control arm

NOTE:
If the upper control arm is detached from the rear axle carrier/trailing arm, it is necessary after reinstallation to carry out a wheel/chassis alignment check.
Necessary preliminary tasks
- Remove OUTPUT SHAFT from rear differential and tie back
- Remove COIL SPRING
Release stabilizer on upper control arm.
Tightening torque 33 55 2AZ .
Release nut (1) and remove screw.
Tightening torque 33 32 5AZ .
Release bolt (1) on rear axle carrier and unscrew towards rear.
Remove upper control arm at side.
Installation:
Tighten control arm on rear axle carrier in normal position.
Tightening torque 33 32 6AZ .
Adjusting normal position:
IMPORTANT:
Coil spring must not be fitted yet!
Press wheel carrier upwards with special tool 31 5 220 and workshop jack up to dimension A.
Dimension A = middle of wheel hub to top edge of wheel arch
Conventional chassis/suspension:
A = 361 mm
EDC suspension:
A = 351 mm
After installation
- Perform CHASSIS ALIGNMENT CHECK
