51 16 340 Removing and installing/replacing lock for right glovebox

Open glove compartment (2).

Release screws (1) on inside of glovebox (2).

Remove lock from glovebox (2).

Installation:

Carry out function check with glovebox open.

Replacement

Remove lock barrel.

To do so, remove upper lock section (1) by expanding catches (2) with a suitable tool.

Slide lock barrel (2) out of glovebox lock (3) by expanding catches (1) with a suitable tool.

NOTE: The emergency key in the lock barrel prevents the lock wedges from falling out.
