51 16... Removing and installing cup holder insert

When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Version with manual gearbox:

Version with automatic transmission:

Detach plug connection from cigarette lighter.

Using the index and middle fingers, pull cupholder insert (1) upward at marked position (arrows) until rear attachment points (2) unlock.

Continue pulling the cupholder insert (1) up and forward at a slant until the front attachment points (2) disengage.

Remove the cupholder insert.

Installation note:

Check that the left and right inserted mats (1) are installed in the correct position and correct them if necessary.
