13 53 560 Removing and installing/replacing fuel pressure sensor on pressure accumulator of injection system (N57 D30 U/O/T 0/1)

IMPORTANT: When working on the fuel circuit, you must protect the alternator against dirt contamination.
Cover alternator with suitable materials.
Failure to comply with this procedure may result in an alternator malfunction.

Recycling:

Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.

Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Read out the fault memory of the DDE control unit.
Switch off ignition.
Remove ACOUSTIC COVER .

Unlock connector (1) and remove.

Release fuel pressure sensor (2).

Check threads and sealing surfaces for damage prior to installing the fuel pressure sensor. Ensure conditions of cleanliness when installing fuel pressure sensor (1). Lightly grease threads on fuel pressure sensor. Screw in fuel pressure sensor by hand. Then tighten down the fuel pressure sensor with a tool.

Installation note:

Tightening torque 13 53 3AZ .

Assemble engine.

Check stored fault message.

Check fuel system for tightness.
