51 47 316 Removing and installing/replacing carpet for rear passenger compartment

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Clamp off BATTERY LEAD FROM NEGATIVE CONNECTION POINT
• Remove both front seats  . See 52 14 001 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT, DRIVER'S SIDE or 52 14 002 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT, FRONT PASSENGER SIDE
• Remove REAR SEAT
• Remove TRIM PANEL FOR DOOR POST, BOTTOM  left/right
• Remove COMPLETE CENTER CONSOLE 
• Remove cover for central bass speaker  . See 65 12 053 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/RENEWING CENTRAL BASS SPEAKER - PASSENGER'S SIDE - (UNDER FRONT SEAT) or 65 12 051 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/RENEWING CENTRAL BASS SPEAKER - DRIVER'S SIDE- (UNDER FRONT SEAT) left/right

Release nut (1) and remove cable (2) from carpet (3).

Feed out carpet (3) to rear/top.

Installation note: 

Apertures (1) serve as alignment points when fitting carpet (2).
