51 43 201 Removing and installing or replacing trim for roof pillar at front (A-pillar), left or right

WARNING: Follow SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS for working on vehicles with airbag systems.

IMPORTANT: Do not use any sharp-edged tools to remove trim (risk of damage to head airbag).

Removal:

Detach edge protection (1) in area of trim panel (2).

Detach trim panel (2) from clips (3) towards inside.

Feed out the trim panel (2) upwards from the instrument panel and remove.

NOTE: Make sure EDGE PROTECTION (1) is correctly seated.

Installation:

NOTE: Lift out clips (1) remaining in body and insert in trim panel (2).
Renew faulty clips (1)
Make sure guides (3) fit correctly in associated mountings of the instrument panel.

Feed the trim panel (2) downwards into the instrument panel.

Engage trim panel (2) in clips (3).

Attach edge protection (1) in area of trim panel (2).

NOTE: Make sure EDGE PROTECTION (1) is correctly seated.
