51 11 185 Removing and installing/replacing ornamental grille in front (side) bumper panel (M aerodynamic package)

Necessary preliminary work:

Removal:

Release latch mechanisms (1) and carefully remove air duct (2).

Grind off welding spots (1) and remove ornamental clip from outside.

Parts: Ornamental clip must be replaced.

Unfasten plug connection (2) and disconnect.

Remove relevant ultrasonic sensor.

Unfasten catches and remove ornamental grille (3).

Installation:

Insert ornamental grille (1) into bumper panel and fasten with latch mechanisms.

Install ultrasonic sensor (2) and connect relevant connector.

Prepare new ornamental clip.

In bumper panel without aperture, latch mechanism (1) must be cut off flush along line (2).

Insert ornamental clip and fix welded pins (1) with circlip (2).

Also fix circlips (2) with adhesive (3).

Insert adhesive (3) from ADHESIVE SET K6 into spaces of circlip (2) until it escapes slightly.
